Electric Utility Scams are back - know what to do!

May 30, 2025 - CLEVELAND – Utility frauds are back. Scammers are targeting Cleveland Public Power customers with spoofed telephone numbers, so please be aware and alert. If you need to reach CPP you should always call a telephone number with a (216) area code. Any other area code is a fraud. 

If you need information on your electric bill, or would like to make a payment, call 216-664-4600 and our representatives will assist you.

For your safety, please remember the following:

  • CPP will not call your home asking you to pay your bill
  • Our staff will not visit your home seeking payment

Here are the ways Cleveland Public Power accepts payment:

  • You can make a payment, review your account, and view your electric consumption 24/7 by visiting cpp.org. 
  • Submit any questions via the inquiry form at cpp.org/Contact
  • You can also make a payment any time by mail, by calling 216-420-8000, or by placing it in the drop box at 1201 Lakeside. Our Customer Service Call Center (216-664-4600) is available Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
