July 7, 2025 – Cleveland – Applications are available for the Summer Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) through September 30, 2025. Customers in need of assistance with electric bills are encouraged to make an appointment.
Summer HEAP is available for income-eligible residents. The federally funded program helps offset the cost with a one-time benefit applied directly to your utility bill. Residents may also choose to receive an air conditioning unit, fans, or the repair of an existing air conditioning unit. Up to $800 in benefits are available.
To receive the benefit, you must complete the Energy Assistance Application (English or Spanish) and submit a copy of the required income documents. Applications are also available at your Local Energy Assistance Provider and local libraries.
Our agency partner, Step Forward, advises applicants use last year’s application, until 2025 forms become available. If you would like to apply in person, the walk-in office for Summer Crisis is located at 4834 Richmond Rd., Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
You can also call 216-350-8008 to schedule an appointment.
