CLEVELAND, Ohio - October 3, 2025 - Come out and celebrate with Cleveland Public Power on Saturday, October 11, 2025, as CPP concludes its annual Public Power Week celebration with an Open House and miniature car races.

Returning after a six-year hiatus is the Solar Sprint race for students in grades 3-8. For the last month, Cleveland students have designed and tested solar powered cars they will race down E. 13th Street with the hopes of taking home a trophy. The races begin at 12 Noon, followed by an Open House featuring Bucket Truck demonstrations and other activities highlighting the importance of Public Power.

“CPP, like other municipally owned utilities across the nation, is working with one purpose: powering a strong community,” said Ammon Danielson, Commissioner at Cleveland Public Power. “We operate right here in Cleveland serving our friends and neighbors. Our mission reflects what we care deeply about: providing great customer service, helping folks save energy and money, and delivering the most reliable electric service possible.”

Cleveland Public power invites the community to come out and cheer on our Cleveland scholars and see how CPP works for you and your business! We will have activities for the entire family and refreshments from Noon – 5 p.m. at 1300 Lakeside Avenue.
