July 6, 2006 - Cleveland - Our crews have restored the major outages caused by the recent storm and extreme heat. The remaining outages are smaller, isolated incidents that require more time to locate and repair.
Many of these outages involve underground electrical equipment. Unlike overhead lines, underground faults must first be identified and isolated before repairs can begin. In many cases, crews are able to reroute power around the damaged section while permanent repairs are completed.
Last week's extreme heat placed significant stress on the electrical system, particularly underground equipment.
Crews and contractors remain in the field and are working until every customer has been restored. We appreciate your continued patience as this work continues.
