As summer comes to a close, many are still dealing with high electric bills from the hot, humid days of summer. Help is available throughout September.
For income-eligible residents there’s a federally funded program, Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), to help offset the cost with a one-time benefit applied directly to your utility bill. This program runs until the end of September.
To receive the benefit you must apply by completing the Energy Assistance Application (English or Spanish) and submitting a copy of the required income documents. Applications are also available at your Local Energy Assistance Provider and local libraries.
You can also call 216-350-8008 to schedule an appointment.
